73. Self-Love or Self-Sabotage? Are YOU withholding love from yourself? (bugs fixed)

I will love myself when I ________. If I ________, then I will love myself. Oh how I wish we could all learn these things I’m talking about on today’s episode!! Above are two of the most common ways we self-sabotage…not necessarily obviously, but each of us is bent towards it. I know a decade ago, I was seemingly in the “prime” of my life-I looked great, was a tiny size and super strong being able to do unlimited pull ups, rock climb, run 4 miles effortlessly, and plank for almost 10 minutes. But what we don’t often talk about is what was going on inside. Many times in the last decade I would think about how I would love to be that small…that fit. But what does it mean to be “fit”? And also, why did I keep coming back to that desire to be just like someone-the “me” from a decade ago. Was it because I felt accepted socially? Because I was small?? Because I could try anything on and not feel bad because if anything, clothes were LOOSE? What we often don’t realize is that we are NOT the same person we were “before.” We MUST understand we are different…wiser, older, and everything including our cells that make our body have changed by now-we are literally a NEW person. Does this mean we don’t work on ourselves? Absolutely not!! You may think self-love dampens motivation to change. FALSE. Self-love is the STRONGEST foundation you can build for transformation. Here are a few things I’m talking about today: ✔️The difference between satisfaction and acceptance. ✔️How withholding love or joy from a person would be a sign of a toxic relationship in any other partnership - why do we do that to ourselves? ✔️The tendency we have to internalize problems rather than recognize the outside factors that come into play. ✔️What really brings us joy…and it's not hitting our goal ✔️How do we define the word “fit” in our own lives? In my many years as a personal trainer, and then my not-so-great times working with a bunch of so-called “health and fitness” companies like Xyngular, Beachbody, It Works, etc, I’ve made a LOT of mistakes in my own life and in adding to the problem…helping people treat their symptoms, instead of addressing the issue. Let’s CHANGE the health and fitness industry and START by changing inside…by loving ourselves completely so that we can BECOME the BEST version of ourselves. I think we owe that to ourselves, don’t you?! Don’t forget…just a few days left to “share the love” by dropping me a review or sharing that you’re listening to this podcast (take a screenshot of what you’re listening to on here or your review and post to your story, tagging @grace_2_conquer ) for a $5 Starbucks card ALL MONTH LONG!! (Feb 2022 only)! Thank you for spreading this podcast so that we can help others know the truths vs. lies we are uncovering!!
